Like all of our fused glass jewelry, our fused glass belt buckles are handmade using raw fusion glass. The process begins by cutting designs with a diamond tipped cutter. The glass is then layered to create each individual design. The raw glass is kiln fired for up to fifteen hours at over 1400 degrees
-Do they break? The buckles are made of fused glass, but they are fairly thick and durable. If you drop a buckle onto the cement, chances are it will break or chip. Think of it like a dinner plate...you can use it and sometimes abuse it, but at some point, you may need to buy new plates.
-What size are the buckles?
All of the buckles are 3in x 2in. They are all handmade so the sizes vary slightly.
-What kind of belt do i need? Western style belts are available at many trendy stores such as Urban Outfitters, or any type of western wear store. As long as the belt can handle interchangeable buckles, you should be all set, but why stress? Just buy your belt here -Are they heavy? Strapped fused glass buckles don't weigh anymore than an average buckle.
-Custom orders? Strapped can do custom belt buckles, but mostly only in bulk quantities. The best thing to do is email us with your thoughts or requests.
-Do the buckles come with belts?
Buckles and belts are sold separately. The belts are interchangeable so you can buy one in each color if you would like.
-Belt sizing-
Most people choose a size or two up from actual waist size. For instance, if you wear a 32 in jeans, you should probably order a size 34 or 36 belt. Women will want to take in to consideration how low they are wearing the jeans on the hips. To convert women's dress sizes into belt size...add 23 or 24 to the ladies size you normally wear and that is the belt length that will come closest to fitting you. Take your build into consideration. If you have fuller hips and rear you may need a size slightly bigger and if your hips are slim or your rear end is flat then you may need a little smaller. (Size 12 = 35 or 36in belt - at Strapped that would be M/L)
-Belt width-
All Strapped Belts are 1.5" in width, and all Strapped Buckles work with a 1.5" belt.
-How long until my order ships-
